USDA enhances ground beef recordkeeping requirements

Proposal requires makers of ground beef to identify source, supplier and names of all materials used in preparation of raw products.

THE U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety & Inspection Service (FSIS) is proposing to require that all makers of raw ground beef products keep records in order to further protect consumers by ensuring that retailers can trace sources of ground meats.
