Tyson trades Heinold for Hillshire

Tyson settlement with antitrust regulators clears way for Hillshire deal.

TYSON Foods Inc. agreed to sell Heinold Hog Markets —the boar and sow purchasing business of its Tyson Hog Market Inc. subsidiary — in a settlement reached with the U.S. Department of Justice and state attorneys general in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.

The agreement, which is subject to federal court approval, will pave the way for Tyson to complete its $8.5 billion acquisition of The Hillshire Brands Co.
