Tough road ahead for T-TIP

Senators and dairy groups both call for USTR to defend agriculture within EU trade deal negotiations.

Both the U.S. and the European Union have pledged to conclude Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership (T-TIP) negotiations this year. This week, negotiations are going on in New York City, and members of Congress and industry groups continue to push for agriculture to hold its ground in any final agreement.

While meeting with G7 nations, including the EU countries of Germany, France, the U.K. and Italy, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said he pressed on the main issue
