Syngenta posts lower first-half results amid market challenges

Company expects ChemChina deal to be completed by year-end.

Syngenta chief executive officer Erik Fyrwald said July 22 that the company still expects China National Chemical Corp.'s (ChemChina) proposed acquisition of Syngenta to go through this year, despite increased scrutiny from U.S. regulators.
