STB urged to provide more transparency, accountability in rail investigations

NGFA asks STB to provide public notice of rail practice issue potentially under investigation.

The National Grain & Feed Assn. (NGFA) recently urged the federal Surface Transportation Board (STB) to provide more transparency and accountability when implementing important new authority to investigate freight rail issues.

For freight rail users, including shippers and receivers of grain, feed and processed commodities, NGFA said the new authority to investigate rail issues having regional or national significance is "perhaps the most important part" of the STB Reauthorizat
