Stabenow introduces Urban Agriculture Act

Farm bill discussion jump starts introduction of urban agriculture bill to increase assistance to growing segment of farmers.

In an effort to build on the support for local and organic food production in the last farm bill, Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.) hopes to build on that work and look for ways to create new opportunities for urban farmers.

The Urban Agriculture Act of 2016 addresses the unique needs of urban farmers by investing new resources and increasing flexibility through existing programs administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
