South Africa now taking U.S. pork

Pork industry will continue to work to get complete access to the market.

The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC), which worked with the Obama Administration to convince Pretoria to lift a de facto ban on U.S. pork, welcomed news Friday that South Africa is now accepting U.S. pork exports.

The U.S. can now ship to South Africa a variety of raw, frozen pork, including bellies, hams, loins, ribs and shoulders, for unrestricted sale and other pork for further processing.
