Senate Judiciary Committee hears from seed and chemical companies as well as farmer groups on impact of trends forcing companies to merge.

The consolidation wave has become a tsunami, Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley said in opening a hearing on consolidation in the agriculture industry regarding five of the “Big Six” companies being engaged in proposed merger and acquisition discussions.
