Ralco acquires Bakker Consulting animal health division

Ralco, a global leader in animal health, announced Nov. 3 that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the animal health division of Bakker Consulting Inc. (BCI) located in Rock Valley, Iowa.

The acquisition is aligned with Ralco's strategy to provide customers with the most advanced natural animal health products that provide producers with a superior return on investment. The acquisition does not affect the nutrition or agronomy divisions of BCI.

"A real advantage to this agreement is that the customer will experience continuity throughout the entire process," said Ralco Animal Health general manager Diane Wagner. "Because BCI sold only Ralco Animal Health products, their customers will continue to receive the same great products that provide outstanding value. Customers can also expect the same level of service on which they have come to rely."

BCI has been a distributor of Ralco products since 2003. BCI owner Bernie Bakker said providing customers with solutions to production challenges has been essential to the growth of his business, and that the company will continue to provide its customers with cutting-edge technologies through livestock and plant nutrition.

“This is an exciting development for BCI. We will continue to grow and improve focus on our nutrition and agronomy divisions,” Bakker said. “There is tremendous potential to develop our business and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Ralco through the Ralco Animal Nutrition and Agnition brands.”

Ralco is a third-generation family owned multinational company with distribution in more than 30 countries. A leading global provider of livestock nutrition, animal health products and crop enhancement products; Ralco supports large segments of the livestock, poultry, aquaculture and crop industries.

BCI is a family owned animal and plant nutrition company with offices in Rock Valley, Iowa, and Zeeland, Mich. BCI offers practical expertise to dairy, feedlot, swine and crop operators.
