Perdue Foods takes steps towards reducing antibiotic use, sets standard for responsible use.

PERDUE Foods announced last week that it surpassed a new milestone in its 12-year journey of developing standards for responsible use of antibiotics by eliminating all antibiotics from its chicken hatcheries, which took five years to fully implement.

This latest stage is part of the company's comprehensive plan for the use of antibiotics. Since 2007, Perdue has not used antibiotics for growth promotion in its chicken production operations. However,
