Organic Valley tops $1b in sales, prepares for future

Organic Valley sales topped $1.04 billion in 2015, making it the first billion-dollar, organic-only food company.

Organic Valley reached a significant milestone in 2015: Its sales topped $1.04 billion, making it the first billion-dollar, organic-only food company.

Founded in 1988 by seven farm families in southwest Wisconsin, the farmer-owned co-op now has a membership of more than 1,800 farmers in 36 states. During the co-op's 27th annual meeting, held recently in LaCrosse, Wis., Organic Valley chief executive officer George Siemon said business has never been better than it is now.
