Olymel investing $25m to expand pork processing plant

Investment is one of a series to strengthen company's supply and production capacity.

Olymel, Canada's leader in the production, processing and distribution of pork and poultry meats, announced June 21 an investment of more than $25 million to expand its hog slaughterhouse and butchering facility at St-Esprit in the Lanaudière region of Quebec. Once completed, the expansion project is expected to add 200 new jobs to the current staff of 810 employees working at the facility.
