THE title of a report released Oct. 14 by the Center for Food Safety (CFS) reads: "America's Secret Animal Drug Problem: How the Lack of Transparency is Endangering Human Health & Animal Welfare."

CFS describes itself as "a nonprofit public interest and environmental advocacy membership organization established in 1997 for the purpose of challenging harmful food production technologies and promoting sustainable alternatives."
