N&H TOP LINE: Amount of corn grain in beef finishing diets

Scientists examine amount of corn grain or byproduct to include in beef cattle finishing diets. ALSO: Dairy sheep station closes; lignin enzymes.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has released its "2016 Nebraska Beef Cattle Report" (http://beef.unl.edu/nebraska-beef-cattle-report-2016) that summarizes the results of its research projects from 2015.

In one of the highlighted projects, animal scientists Andrea K. Watson, Matt K. Luebbe and Galen E. Erickson examined previous feedlot trials to identify blends of corn grain and byproduct that maximized cattle performance in the feedlot.
