Neogen names new president

NEOGEN Corp. has announced that president and chief operating officer Lon Bohannon is retiring, effective Aug. 31, and will be succeeded by Stephen Snyder.

Snyder has 26 years' experience in leadership roles at Cargill Inc. and Monsanto Co., most recently as vice president for marketing in the industrial oils and lubricants business at Cargill, according to the announcement. Most of his career has involved financial, marketing and technical activities in food-related businesses.

Bohannon has been with Neogen for 27 years and has served as COO since 2000.

Neogen, headquartered in Lansing, Mich., develops and markets products for animal safety — including animal health care products such as diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, wound care products and veterinary instruments — and for food safety, including diagnostic kits to detect foodborne bacteria and food allergens.

The company has more than 800 employees and reported fiscal 2012 sales of $184.046 million.
