CARGILL, Wichita, Kan. — Chuck Gitkin has been named chief marketing officer of the North American Protein Group, effective Sept. 19. Gitkin will lead marketing transformation and implement the protein portfolio promotion approach. He was previously with Smithfield Foods.

INTERNATIONAL DAIRY FOODS ASSN., Washington, D.C. — Dr. Michael D. Dykes has been named president and chief executive officer, starting with a transition in October and taking full effect in January 2017. Dykes will guide efforts to develop successful approaches and initiatives for competitive markets. He was previously with Monsanto.

He will also develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and manage relationships with designated key accounts. He was previously with Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica.
 

CORRECTION: CARGILL ANIMAL NUTRITION, Hopkins, Minn. — Jennifer Becker has joined the Central U.S. dairy team as dairy specialist. Becker will be responsible for summarizing and analyzing records to assist customers.

COUNCIL ON DAIRY CATTLE BREEDING, Bowie, Md. — Dr. George R. Wiggans has joined the council as a consultant. Wiggans will provide expertise in areas concerning improved management and genetics of dairy cattle. He was previously with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service.
 

VIRTUS NUTRITION, Corcoran, Cal. — Julie Barnett has been named northern California and Pacific Northwest sales manager. Barnett will work with dairy producers, nutritionists and large animal veterinarians in northern California, western Washington and western Oregon.

Charles Nett has been named Upper Midwest sales manager. Nett will call on dairy producers, nutritionists and cooperating veterinarians in Wisconsin, Illinois and a portion of Minnesota.
