BAYER CROPSCIENCE, Monheim, Germany — Dr. Adrian Percy has been named global head of research and development, effective Aug. 1. Percy was most recently senior vice president of global regulatory affairs.

CALIFORNIA MILK ADVISORY BOARD, Modesto, Cal. — John D. Talbot has joined the board as chief executive officer, effective July 7. Talbot was previously with the Almond Board of California.

IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY, Ames, Iowa — Ben Drescher has joined the department of animal science as coordinator of its livestock teaching and research farms. Drescher will supervise daily operations of the dairy, beef, swine, horse and poultry farms and will coordinate their budgets, maintenance and repair, equipment needs and feed procurement. He was previously with Murphy-Brown LLC.

U.S. GRAINS COUNCIL, Washington, D.C. — Melissa George Kessler has joined the council as director of communications. Kessler will design and execute communications strategies to raise the profile of the council's experts, expertise and its mission. She will develop and lead overall communications initiatives and public relations efforts, including internal and external communication strategies. She was most recently a communications and organizational effectiveness consultant.
