AMERICAN MEAT INSTITUTE, Washington, D.C. — Susan Backus has been promoted to vice president. Backus will manage the AMI Foundation's research program and will staff the institute's  Health & Wellness Advisory Committee. She also serves as the director of administration for the Shelf-Stable Food Processors Assn.

Dr. Betsy Booren has been promoted to vice president of scientific affairs. Booren will direct scientific activities and staff the Scientific Affairs Committee. She will be responsible for responding to technical and scientific needs of members and coordinating research activities for the AMI Foundation.

COBANK, Denver, Colo. — Nivin Elgohary has been named vice president of public-private partnerships. Elgohary will focus on solutions for rural infrastructure and agribusiness customers through public/private partnerships and will be responsible for the development of new services and products and rural economic development programs. Nivin was previously with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service.

LESAFFRE FEED ADDITIVES, Milwaukee, Wis. — Julie Willier Bowman has been promoted to North American sales manager. Bowman was most recently regional sales manager in the Northeast U.S. and Canada.

Dr. Jimmie R. Corley has been promoted to director-North American business. Corley was most recently technical services manager.
