Monsanto eyeing Bayer's crop science unit?

Monsanto continues to seek expansion opportunities following Syngenta's rejections.

Monsanto Co. is reportedly courting Bayer AG for its crop science unit in an ongoing quest to expand. The potential acquisition could be worth more than $30 billion, people familiar with the matter recently told Reuters.

Monsanto’s latest pursuit comes after Syngenta rejected numerous takeover bids from Monsanto last year. Syngenta announced earlier this year that it had reached a $43 billion deal with China's state-owned ChemChina.
