U.S. milk powder exports gain market share in Brazil

Brazil's milk production and supply have declined due to drought.

Uruguay and Argentina have been the traditional milk powder suppliers to Brazil, but a shortage of milk has caused Brazil to search for other non-traditional suppliers. Even with an import tariff of 33%, the U.S. has become one of those suppliers, according to a new “Global Agriculture Information Network” (GAIN) report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).
