LIKE it or not, agree with the consumer advocates or not, side with the North American Meat Institute (NAMI) and/or the American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) or not, a ship has set sail on mechanically tenderized steaks and will arrive at port next May.

New rules need to be posted in the Federal Register one year before they are enacted, except for emergencies, and in that instance, they are called interim rules.
