Meat production to rise slightly

TOTAL meat production forecasts for 2015 and 2016 were little changed from last month due to largely offsetting changes in red meat and poultry production, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's latest "World Agricultural Supply & Demand Estimates" (WASDE) report.

USDA projected 2015 red meat and poultry production to be 94.751 billion lb., a 49 million lb. increase from last month's estimate.
