Canadian beef: Taiwan joins Peru, Indonesia, South Korea and Belarus in banning beef and beef products produced in Canada following a confirmed case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) at a farm near Edmonton, Alb. Meanwhile, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said it is investigating feed sources related to the BSE case, and Canada remains listed as a "controlled BSE risk" with the World Organization for Animal Health.
