Beef trade: Spinning off of the previous Friday, the cattle market rallied last week but fizzled out on the last day of the year. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported that the cash trade for cattle was up $3-6 to $164-167/cwt. in all feeding regions. Wholesale beef cutout values climbed $4.38 to $248.90/cwt. for Choice and rose $2.96 to $238.57/cwt. for Select.
