LIVESTOCK MARKETS: Milk prices to remain near February levels

Milk prices may only increase modestly during the first half of 2016.

March milk prices won’t change much from February and remain well below a year ago, according to University of Wisconsin-Madison professor emeritus Bob Cropp. Additionally, dairy product prices may average just a little lower than February.

Cropp said the CME butter price averaged $2.08/lb. in February and has ranged from $1.925-2.04/lb. in March.  The 40-pound cheddar cheese price averaged $1.474/lb. in February and has ranged from $1.46-1.52/lb. in March. Cheddar barrels averaged
