Lesser prairie chicken formally removed from ESA list

Fish & Wildlife Service removes lesser prairie chicken from list of threatened and endangered species, in accordance with court order.

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) took action to formally remove the lesser prairie chicken from the Federal List of Endangered & Threatened Wildlife, drawing wide praise from those who support private landowner efforts to increase the birds' habitat.
