Kansas City Southern investing $14.3m in Louisiana line

Work expected to begin Nov.15 and continue through late December.

Kansas City Southern (KCS) announced Nov. 1 that its subsidiary, The Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR), is investing approximately $14.3 million in 2016 on construction and improvement projects on its New Orleans, La., subdivision.

Rail, cross-tie and crossing improvements are planned between Port Allen and Simmesport, La., and a rail project is planned in Norco, La. The work is expected to begin on Nov. 15 and continue through late December.
