June WASDE reflects lower red meat, poultry production

Higher feed prices dampening rate of production growth.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s June “World Agricultural Supply & Demand Estimates” (WASDE) report reflected a lower forecast for total red meat and poultry production in 2016 and 2017, compared to May’s forecast. USDA said the reduction was largely due to higher feed prices dampening the rate of production growth.
