KANSAS state Sen. Jeff Melcher (R., Leawood) has just introduced a bill that would value agricultural property the same as any other property in his high-income suburb of Kansas City, Kan.
Pushing his concept forward, he said the current statute "is designed to artificially produce extraordinarily low farmland values."
His suggestion is much more than a slight bump up in taxes. It is a Muhammad Ali one-two combination punch
