Indonesia trade barriers challenged

U.S. challenging Indonesia's ban on poultry and meat products and import restrictions on certain fruits and vegetables.

INDONESIA'S wide-ranging import restrictions on agricultural products such as beef and poultry as well as apples, grapes and potatoes will be closely scrutinized as the U.S. has requested that the World Trade Organization establish a dispute settlement panel to examine Indonesia's practices.

The challenge is regarding Indonesia's ban on poultry and certain meat products and its trade-restrictive import licensing regimes for horticultural products,
