THE Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) filed complaints with the Watonwan County, Minn., Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety & Inspection Service (FSIS) claiming that inhumane treatment of animals and potentially illegal cruelty occurred at a southwestern Minnesota poultry processing facility owned by Butterfield Foods Co.
