House tackles ag spending bill

THE House agriculture appropriations subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Robert Aderholt (R., Ala.), marked up and approved by voice vote its version of the fiscal 2016 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food & Drug Administration & Related Agencies appropriations bill June 18.

The bill would provide $20.7 billion in discretionary spending, which represents a 1% reduction from the fiscal 2015 enacted level, and at an overall total of $143.9 billion,
