Groups ask for port labor talks to start early

Organizations urge dock workers to settle labor differences well ahead of 2019 expiration.

Several trade associations sent a letter to the International Longshore & Warehouse Union (ILWU) and the Pacific Maritime Assn. (PMA) urging them to begin early discussions on a contract extension or a new contract covering operations at West Coast shipping ports.
