NGFA, AFIA seek broader exemptions in FSMA sanitary transportation rule.

MAJOR feed groups recently submitted comments on the Food & Drug Administration's proposed Sanitary Transportation of Human & Animal Food rule, one of many pieces of the food safety overhaul included in the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Both the National Grain & Feed Assn. (NGFA) and the American Feed Industry Assn. (AFIA) commented on the regulation, which will apply to shippers, carriers and receivers transporting agricultural
