FAO food price index stable for third month

Global meat prices stabilize but are still at record-high levels.

FOOD prices worldwide remained virtually unchanged in November, with the U.N. Food & Agriculture Organization's (FAO) Food Price Index averaging 192.60 points for the month, marking the third consecutive month of stability.

The index is now 6.4% below a year ago, according to FAO.
