Evonik opens lysine plant in Brazil

First Evonik plant to produce feed-grade L-lysine in Latin America brings company's annual capacity to around 80,000 metric tons.

Evonik has commissioned a new plant for the biotechnological production of its Biolys L-lysine amino acid product in Castro, Brazil, in the state of Parana.

The plant will have an annual production capacity of around 80,000 metric tons of L-lysine, which is used as a feed additive in animal nutrition.
