Elanco adds insecticide for poultry houses

Elanco Animal Health has launched Agita 10 WG, an insecticide for fly and beetle control for animal housing in the U.S.

Agita 10 WG features a unique, potent active ingredient that delivers a quick kill and long-lasting residual. Reducing pests reduces their impact on animal well-being and performance potential.

Studies have shown Agita 10 WG kills approximately 76% of house flies in a 24-hour period and more than 98% of darkling beetles (adult, pupae and larvae).

As part of an integrated pest control rotation strategy, the water-dispersible granule insecticide forms a sprayable suspension for application on surfaces where flies prefer to gather and under feeders where beetles congregate. The product offers an average of six weeks residual.

“Agita expands our U.S. portfolio with an innovative insecticide that supports Elanco’s commitment to innovation, health and production efficiency in the poultry industry,” said Dr. Oscar Betancur, global technical consultant with Elanco.

Agita 10 WG is currently approved for use in more than 60 countries and is now available in the U.S.

Agita 10 WG delivers:

* A lethal dose of thiamethoxam to darkling beetles and house flies;

* A combination of contact and stomach modes of action;

* Dual attractants for male and female flies, and

* A new option for rotation with other insecticide classes,
