CROP PROGRESS: Corn harvest at 75%, soybeans at 87%

Winter wheat rating slips one point to 58% good-to-excellent condition.

A fairly dry week allowed advances in the corn and soybean harvests, with the corn harvest now 75% done and on par with the five-year average, while soybeans are 87% harvested, up two points from the average.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture rated the winter wheat crop at 58% good to excellent (48% good and 10% excellent), down one point from a week ago but still better than last year’s 49
