USDA announces corn and soybean export sales.

The crop markets were higher on the first day of September as they tried to recover from their dismal performance in August.

Weekly export sales reported on Thursday were down from a week ago for corn, soybeans and wheat, but only corn missed trade forecasts. In daily reporting, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a corn export sale to Mexico and a soybean sale to unknown destinations.
