Corn, soybean markets fall after USDA raises production, yields: Podcast

Corn crop now estimated at 15.23 billion bu. and soybean crop at 4.36 billion bu.

Corn and soybean markets held double-digit losses shortly after the U.S. Department of Agriculture raised its estimates for this year’s harvests. The estimates for larger crops and yields topped average trade forecasts.

The wheat markets also were lower at midday Wednesday, following the corn and soybean markets. USDA left wheat production unchanged but did raise its estimate for wheat ending stocks slightly.
