Corn rating unchanged as harvest gets started

THE U.S. corn crop stayed at 68% good to excellent condition in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's latest update as slight improvements in the Iowa and Indiana crops were offset, in part, by declines in Kansas and Missouri.

The first harvest report of the season put corn at 5% completed, up one point from a year ago but down four points from the five-year average.

In Iowa, corn ratings improved a point to 80% good/excellen
