Corn futures were about a penny lower and soybeans a few cents higher as the markets stabilized after recent declines.

Corn did set net contract lows earlier on Thursday. The latest monthly outlook for August dials down the heat for the northern half of the Midwest and has above-normal chances for rain then in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and western Illinois.
