City of Fremont sued over approved Costco chicken plant

City council approves $13.5 million tax-increment financing note for Costco project.

The city council of Fremont, Neb., voted July 26 to approve a redevelopment agreement with Costco, ending a lengthy series of tense meetings over the company’s proposed chicken processing plant. If Costco chooses to move forward, it will need to submit detailed plans for site development and apply for a building permit.
