ChemChina bid for Syngenta could come by February

Merger deal between Syngenta and ChemChina seems more likely than with Monsanto due to antitrust issues.

The crop protection segment continues to see further consolidation, and the latest reports indicate that ChemChina may be the suiter picked at the end of the day for Swiss pesticide and seed company Syngenta.

Syngenta previously was being courted heavily by Monsanto, but in December, Syngenta’s board turn down Monsanto’s $47 billion offer, stating that it significantly undervalued the firm.
