California to list glyphosate as cancer risk

THE California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has stated its intention to list glyphosate as a Proposition 65 chemical — a distinction under the Safe Drinking Water & Toxic Enforcement Act for chemicals that are known to cause cancer.

The sole basis for OEHHA's proposed listing of glyphosate is the classification of glyphosate earlier this year by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
