BIO-PRO colostrum replacer now available

Protocol Naturals announced the availability of new BIO-PRO 150 Colostrum Replacer, designed specifically to contain more globulin protein (150 g) necessary to replace maternal colostrum for newborn dairy or beef calves.

BIO-PRO 150 Colostrum Replacer is specifically designed to completely replace maternal colostrum for newborn dairy or beef calves or may be used in cases where maternal colostrum is unavailable or is of unknown quality and for all calves born to first-calf heifers, the announcement said. At 230 billion total colony-forming units per 500-g dose, the new colostrum replacer contains the additional benefit of serving as a highly concentrated inoculation of bovine-specific lactic bacteria, live cell yeast and natural source vitamin E.

"The addition of 150 g of globulin protein helps neonatal calves to quickly and stress-free break the cycle of diseases that can be transmitted via colostrum, including Johne’s, tuberculosis and bovine leukemia virus (BLV),” Protocol Naturals president and dairy nutritionist Jimmy Horner said. “BIO-PRO 150 Colostrum Replacer contains extremely high levels of globulin protein from high quality, pasteurized bovine colostrum combined with additional egg-source immune factors that provide highly effective and host-specific immune protection against a wide array of harmful pathogens when the calf needs it the most. The new colostrum replacer also contains high levels of bovine-specific lactic bacteria and live cell yeast to further protect against harmful pathogens and to jumpstart the calf’s digestive system along with a highly fortified natural source vitamin E to assist in preventing tissue oxidation and greatly enhance immune protection.”
