Bill protects ag creditors in bankruptcy

MEMBERS of the Arkansas House delegation introduced H.R. 5542, the Farm Protection Act of 2014, which is designed to help protect agricultural producers who may become creditors in a bankruptcy.

Earlier this summer, Turner Grain, a grain merchandiser in Arkansas, ceased operations and has since entered into bankruptcy litigation, causing problems for producers.

The House delegation subsequently wrote to Agriculture Secretary
