Belstra Milling to buy Heinold Feed, Farmers Pellet Mill

Belstra Milling Co. has signed a letter of intent to buy substantially all of the operating assets of Heinold Feed Co. of Kouts, Ind., and Farmers Pellet Mill of Farmersville, Ill., subject to due diligence. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year. Operations are expected to continue as normal for both locations.

Belstra Milling Co. is a family and employee owned regional feed manufacturing company located in DeMotte, Ind. Since 1954, the company has manufactured feed for a variety of animal species and supplied agricultural products to fill most needs.  Belstra Milling Co. specializes in pig feeds, dairy supplements and calf starter feeds.

Belstra also is an owner and the managing member of the Belstra Group Farms. The Belstra Group Farms specialize in raising pigs in humane and environmentally friendly conditions. As one of the largest family and employee owned farms in Northwest Indiana, the Belstra Group Farms helps feed over half a million families each year.  Belstra Milling Co. is also an owner and managing member of Legacy Farms, the pig farm that is the partner of the Pig Adventure at Fair Oaks Farms.

Heinold Feeds has had a tradition of quality since 1936. From its headquarters in Kouts, the company offers a complete line of nutritional feeds for rabbits, sheep, goat, dairy, swine, beef and horses.
