Bearish trend reversing in dairy markets

Global Dairy Trade auction has seen price increases off lows and appears to be firm on a forward basis.

Robert Chesler, vice president of foods division at INTL FCStone, said it has certainly become interesting over the last two weeks as dairy markets have shifted from an onslaught of bearish news to the reverse.

Prices were very, very low, but the Global Dairy Trade auction has seen price increases come off those lows, and they appear to be firm on a forward basis, he said, adding that U.S. prices have also skyrocketed to the upside.
