Alliance to focus on secondary poultry processing to enhance food safety

RECOGNIZING shifts in poultry consumption over the last few decades, CMS Technology announced that it has launched an alliance with The University of Georgia (UGA) with a focus on secondary processing.

CMS chief executive officer John Meccia noted that "Americans do eat significantly more chicken" than other proteins, so "ensuring that the process that brings us that food source is as safe as possible is an extremely important issue."
